General Report
The 2nd Forum of Asian Graphic Arts Technology
The 2nd FAGAT took place from October 13 to 16, 1997 in Seoul, Korea.
Under the main theme "A Vision of Asian Printing Industry toward the 21st Century ", six countries had prepared this forum to show new printing technology.
In addition, FAGAT'97 Seoul Organizing Committee was held factory visiting and Seoul City excursion.

The 1st Item
Presentation of the subjects on the admission of additional members and the nonattendance countries.
- Pursuit on admission of new members : India and Indonesia
- Subject on nonattendance country : Singapore
Explained that although Korea made efforts on admission of additional members and nonattendance nation, it failed to meet the expected results, and proposed to continue efforts on their participation in the next Forum.
The 2nd Item
Presentation of the subjects on the 3rd FAGAT holding country
Speech of Dr. Vichai - Chief representative of Thailand
Stated that he would do his best for a successful conference if given an opportunity to hold the 3rd FAGAT in Thailand and expected the starting date on September13, 1998 and that he would be the chairman of the holding county if fixed.
Declared that Thailand would be the 3rd FAGAT holding country as a result of an unanimity after expressing other country's opinion

Presentation of the subject on the publication of the Information Reports
Regulations of FAGAT
Chapter2 - Activities (3)- 2) operation
The representative organization in member country will issue information report in English three times a year (April, July and January) and directly distribute it to other representative organizations in other countries.
* Korea, China and Japan had published in 1997.
Resolution
@ Took the representatives to replace own publication rather that Information Report, if there is a publication which has been already circulated in their own country.
A English version is the best but, if it is difficult, at least it should submit the summary in English along with the Report in their own languages.
BThe frequency of the publication per year will be between one and three according to own country's condition.

Budget and Expenses
The 2nd FAGAT budget (US$54,000) made and announced by FAGAT'97 Seoul Organizing Committee.
