Asian economies are showing signs of recovery from the crisis which has troubled the region since mid 1997. Indeed, even 1998 was better than expected when, instead of the negative growth originally predicted, Asian markets on the whole actually grew an impressive 2.6% in 1998. More importantly, the ADB (Asian Development Bank) now projects positive growth in Asia of 4.4% for 1999 and 5.1% in 2000.
Asian Paper established itself as the leading event for the region's pulp, paper and board business when it was first held in 1992 in Singapore. The last Asian Paper in 1998, drew over 3,500 visitors

Presented here are interpretations of the high quality of visitors to Asian Paper'98.

How can producers restore value for consumers, customers and investors?
During an unusually prolonged period of global economic growth and prosperity throughout most of the final decade of this millennium, the production of pulp and paper has been characterized by volatility and inadequate profitability which has resulted in concerned customers and dissatisfied investors.

With sessions devoted to investors & owners; customers & consumers, suppliers and producers as well as the global outlook for major grades, the 30th PRIMA Conference will lead the way with an in-depth analysis of the industry's major problems and potential solutions.
